GDPR
Last updated: 20 July 2026
This page explains how CallEssential handles the personal data of individuals in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area in accordance with the UK GDPR and the EU General Data Protection Regulation. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. Controller and processor roles
For our own business and website data, CallEssential acts as a data controller. When we process communications content and customer data on behalf of a business customer, such as call recordings, contacts, and call detail records, we act as a data processor acting on that customer documented instructions.
2. Your rights
If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability, as provided by the GDPR. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
3. Legal bases
We rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests, and consent.
4. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as required by law.
5. Data Processing Agreement
Business customers who require a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) can request one at privacy@callessential.cc. Our DPA sets out our obligations as a processor, including confidentiality, security, sub-processing, and assistance with data subject requests.
6. Sub-processors
We use a limited number of vetted sub-processors, such as carriers and infrastructure providers, that are bound by contractual data-protection obligations. A current list is available on request.
7. Exercising your rights and complaints
To exercise your rights or raise a concern, contact privacy@callessential.cc. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, for example the UK ICO or your EEA data protection authority.
This page is provided for transparency and general information only. It does not form part of any contract except where expressly incorporated into your service agreement, and nothing here creates warranties or representations beyond those set out in your signed agreement. In the event of any conflict, your service agreement and our Terms of Service prevail.
